Initial pass on mode to enable players to sail around in VR without worrying about combat.
Great - to answer the question below - all you need now is to add some simple missions. for example:
> Smuggling goods and avoiding coastguard ships:
> Sailing to an island to find hidden treasure, whilst avoiding/battling other pirates doing the same (this can be as simple as a race to and back from an island - it would be great to *actually* land on the island and dig, but I am being realistic - a simple chase from point A to point B (and to extend the mission) a simple chase back to A - should be doable?):
> Exploration - for example, navigating to a fellow pirate who is being outnumbered by government ships (or other pirates).
To keep it simple, these can all just lead to a point score - ideally, completing a mission would give a cash reward. the cash being used for ship upgrades.
This should be able to do with existing A.I.? Multiplayer would be fantastic, if it can be done further down the line. However, I would not make multiplayer a priority, as it is damn difficult to get traction with multiplayer in VR - due to the tiny adoption rate at this point in time.
Finally, great to see this. So far, the updates have been tweaks to mechanics and graphics - While all very welcome, I think it is *content* that people are starved of. We need a reason to go back in there.
Also, new content is great for keeping the game 'in the news' - and getting more people to buy/play.
Best of luck going forward.
This is now possible with the first iteration of our new Exploration Mode in our latest patch.
